Running Rigging Splicing Instructions 12-Strand Single Braid - Brummell Splice
 
A “Locked Brummell Splice" may be made, using only one end of the rope, in most soft Hollow Braids, or "Cover Only" constructions using the following splice procedure:

Taper & tape end. Measure Eye, Pass end through Center of rope. Pull end up tight. Size from A. to B. at Mark A.

 

Pull end hard to roll. Now pass end through center and pull A all the way "inside-out" at Mark A. rope at Mark B. (in same direction as before).

 

You now have points A.& B. Now Unroll point A. working rope Pull point B. all the way through rolled inside-out. up and through point A. in direction shown. Now Un-roll Point B. working Pull short end up -while pulling the Continue to close-up locked short end up & through Point B. the standing end down. Brummell Splice in direction shown.

Finally, bury tail into standing end. Splice is finished.
